Proximity and O.Henry Hotel are looking for an energic Hotel Catering Sales Director to join their team of passionate event and hotel professionals who provide impeccable service to the guests they serve while organizing meetings and events at two of Greensboro’s top-rated hotels.

What are the responsibilities of a Catering sales Director?

  • Communicate clearly and perform consistently following the mission and values of the organization in our enthusiastic work environment
  • Be an advocate for our guests with all interactions, ensuring that each guest leaves feeling that their experience was beyond incredible
  • Lead a team with enthusiasm that is responsible for selling group event space and catered food and beverage with a focus and extensive knowledge on the impressive selection of seasonal restaurant food
  • Responsible for creating catering sales forecasts, budgets and strategy
  • Collaborate with leadership, culinary, revenue and communications teams in implementing strategies and tactics to achieve catering and event budgets
  • Direct and support sales team in achieving catering sales and revenue goals and objectives
  • Be proactive with generating and prospecting appropriate leads and instill the same level of enthusiasm within the catering team
  • Manage and further develop account relationships by seeking to best understand our guests’ needs, present their vision consistently to our operations team and provide an event of their dreams
  • Have an active presence in the community through networking and building trusting relationships
  • Have a working knowledge of Print Works Bistro and Green Valley Grill catering menus, including pricing, Chef features, extensive wine offerings and other specialty drinks
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety, ensuring that our maintenance, security and sanitation standards are met at all times
  • Act as a leader with diplomacy and tact with all interactions, ensuring that you take ownership of your intentions and other’s perceptions

What Skills and Experience Are Desired For A Hotel Catering Sales Director?

  • 5 plus years leadership experience in hotel sales, catering and food & beverage with a previous record or demonstration of sales skills
  • Clear understanding of the sales process
  • Friendly, energetic and detail-oriented
  • Passion for hospitality
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • Understanding of Delphi Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel and creating spreadsheets
  • Understanding financial data
  • Analyzing catering sales data
  • Ability to retain and recall detailed information
